Ignorance Issues

Hiya! Today's blog post will be on the topic of ignorance.

Google's definition of Ignorance is 'lack of knowledge or information' which I think sums it up, as people can often be rude because they don't understand something or someone, when really acting so negatively is destructive and is doing no good. If people aren't educated or knowledgeable on a particular subject, they can say things that are offensive and hurtful.

A few weeks ago, me and my friend were out on a walk and passed through a street in a rough area and became quite aware of a situation where people were being ignorant. There was a homeless man hanging around the cashpoints and the people around it and one man was getting quite abusive with his language, but one of the things he yelled at the homeless man was "Get a f^^^ing job".
Me and my friend both looked at each other looking slightly horrified at what we had just heard. We were thinking of how ignorant it was to say that.
Yes, the homeless man shouldn't have been hanging around the cashpoint like he was, but shouting get a job isn't really showing any understanding of his situation, as me and my friend thought. As how is he supposed to get a job when you need internet access, more than likely a printer to print a CV off, a regular address to receieve information and for the actual job interview he'd require a suit and somewhere to clean himself up and products to clean himself up also!
And that's without the issues of if he has the right qualifications!
So it's not really as easy as "get a job" when you think about it like that.
It is frustrating when people don't see the full picture of people's situations.
Me and my friend felt quite guilty that we didn't point this out to the man but he was quite angry and as I said we were in a bit of a rough area so it could have been dangerous. But honestly it's quite easy to tell someone what to do but if you're not in their shoes and you don't realise the extent of the problem, then it's quite likely you're going to offend someone.

But ignorance can come in many forms, as people can be so ignorant as to not fully understand or even try to understand people's situations and problems. This is more so with people with conditions that can't be explicitly seen such as a mental illness or a learning difficulty. People can be quick to question things and not really understand how the person may feel or try to understand why the person does things a certain way which could be different. And this can have a hugely negative affect on the person involved as they can feel extremely isolated and maybe even ashamed. Ignorance can be very hurtful. And it's just not right.

Unfortunately ignorance is still a huge part of society and it's just frustrating when others don't acknowledge that there is often a reason for everything and that not everybody is as fortunate.

My top tip would be to although obviously put yourself first, don't disregard others as we're all people of the world and we all rely on each other and at the end of the day, being aware and being considerate to others and their feelings means that there is a bit more kindness in the world!

I hope this blog post puts it into perspective that some things are easier said than done and that having thought for others around you is really important!

Thank you so much for reading

Eastenders Live Week

Hi everyone!

Today's blog post is going to be about the Eastenders 30th anniversary celebrations, in particular "Live Week". For those of you who are unfamiliar with Eastenders, it is a British soap opera set in London which began in February 1985. It shows 4 episodes per week.

As a fan of Eastenders, it has been amazing to see how even non-fans have been getting into the spirit. I'ver been a fan of Eastenders for quite a while now, I think I watched my first episode about 11/12 years ago and I dipped in and out for a little while before watching properly from about 2006/2007 onwards. Eastenders is probably the only soap I've officially stayed faithful too, as I used to be SUCH  a hardcore Corrie fan but I've not really been watching it as much in the past year, same with Hollyoaks, I was literally obsessed at one point and would watch the E4 first look episode and then watch it again the next day on Channel 4. I kind of want to become obsessed with them again, I'll let you know how that goes!

(BBC's image not my own)

Anyway, tangent aside, Eastenders celebrated their 30th birthday on Thursday 19th February 2015, and to celebrate, they had a series of episodes with live elements in followed by an official live episode on 20th.

The Who Killed Lucy storyline came to an end this week, with the shocking revelation that it was not Jane who killed Lucy, she was protecting Bobby, who had committed the murder!

I think the Who Killed Lucy storyline has been such a great storyline for many reasons. I don't think it's been predictable at all, there has been so many red herrings and different opinions of what happened that Good Friday night. It's just been so good for the viewer, as you're trying to solve it too. I love the fact that it wasn't so basic, the fact that there was so much happening that night, that made it more complex, for me, made it more interesting and appealing. I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been to put the storyline together, especially with so many cast and crew being in the dark over the killer. The flashback episode was so good as it tied a lot of the information we had already been given together.

Alongside the Lucy storyline, there was the fact Dot had let her son Nick Cotton to die. I for one am loving the involvement of Fatboy in this storyline, he and Dot have some brilliant scenes together and I just think it was genius to pair them up, their friendship began in August 2010, when Fatboy accidentally broke Dot's window and she made him fix it. There is also the fact Ian and Jane were getting married, Lauren was figuring out clues also discovering she was pregnant and Kim giving birth.

The live episode, I don't know where to begin.
You couldn't even tell it was live, with the exception of one or two camera moments. Adam Woodyatt was literally phenomenal, to be able to pull off those emotional scenes so convincingly, especially it being LIVE, is just incredible. He really is an AMAZING actor.

Laurie Brett did an incredible job also, especially as she so many lines and so many emotions to cover.
Mimi Keene also really impressed me, I already knew she was an amazing actress from the Cindy giving birth scenes, but Live Week just proved it even more, you forget she's only 16 years old.
Tameka Empson (Kim) also had the difficult task of giving birth live, which I think she did amazingly as I can't imagine how exhausting it must be with your voice, especially acting it out live.
I also should mention how amazing Lorna Fitzgerald (Abi) was, she really impressed me during the live episodes as she had a lot of scenes during the live elements earlier in the week.

I really think that Eastenders should blow the British Soap Awards away this May, definitely with best storyline and Adam Woodyatt and Laurie Brett NEED recognition! I can't imagine how exhausting it must have been for them but I can honestly say they were absolutely incredible during live week.

What did you think of Eastenders Live? I personally think everybody at Eastenders should feel amazingly proud of such a successful and incredible week, they did so well and in particular Adam Woodyatt who stole the show for me.

Thank you for reading and I would love to hear your thoughts!

Holy Grail Shampoo (Big & Frizzy Hair)

Hey everyone! Today I'd like to talk about a product which I have been extremely LOVING lately!
It is the L'oreal Paris Smoothing Intense Anti Frizz Shampoo.

I've got quite thick, long frizzy/wavy/curly hair, and previously I'd focused on shampoos that assisted me in getting rid of greasiness, but this product was aimed at my hair type so I decided to go for it. I'd actually not used it in a while and about a month ago, I found it and used it and literally fell in love with it all over again!
It does such an amazing job with my hair, leaves it feeling really soft and manageable, it is so much easier brushing my hair after washing it with this!

What I really love is that practically as soon as you're lathering it up, you can literally FEEL your the difference, as it gets softer.
It smells so gorgeous too!

What's more, it has argan oil and thermo protection, so it's not only taming my hair, it is nourishing it as well
It claims 48 hr anti-frizz and although I've had occasional frizz after using it, it's definitely a hefty improvement from how my hair is normally, even after blow-drying it, which you accept a lot of frizz from!
In fact, my only issue is that when I tried to Google it, I couldn't find the same version I have! It's quite frustrating, but I've seen very close resembling ones which I'm presuming are the same shampoo just a bigger size than the one I've got.

The ones I've found using Google, are almost exactly like the one I have, I think mine must be an older branding of it.
Here are two links I have found:

Superdrug also sell it, here is a link:

I would definitely purchase this again as it works so well on my hair. I love using this!!

I hope you enjoyed this post and comment below any other products that have worked wonders on your hair!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary of My Blog!!

Hey everyone! So today is quite a day for this blog. It's officially a year since my first ever post! I can't quite believe I've been blogging for a year now! I've had 578 views so far and that means so much to me!

I admit I had a bit of writer's block at the beginning of making the blog, but I've had a bit of time to think about what posts I'd like to make and every time I get a bit of inspiration, I try to write it down so I remember!

I managed 421 views alone in 2014, which makes me feel really happy, as I didn't really expect anybody to read it!

I feel as though I should maybe write some goals here for next year, but I don't know where to start!
I suppose I'd like to have 1,000 views by this day next year, that's probably my next target. My main target is to create content that's worthwhile and is making a positive difference to someone, all I really want to do is make people happy and give people a little bit of positivity. I know how nice it feels to have even something little cheer you up or put a smile on your face and that is what I want to do with this blog. Make people happy and positive.

You reading this now, thank you so much for taking the time to read this little blog post. And if you've read my other posts as well, then an even bigger thank you. Please let me know what kinds of topics you might like to see me blog about and I'll get my thinking cap on! You can email me at or post a comment in the section below.

Thank you!

A Little Pick-Me-Up Quote

Hey there! So once again, having been inspired by a quote in Demi Lovato's Staying Strong 365 Days a Year book, I decided to make a little post about it. I feel as though when things are getting quite hectic in my life, I have a little look for some quotes to make myself feel a bit more upbeat.

"The struggles and the chaos are part of life. But you have to accept them with grace and serenity because they have their own gifts too."

I like this quote a lot. Firstly, because sometimes in the craziness, you forget that everybody faces chaos and struggles, often the same ones as you do. If you read a lot of celebrities autobiographies' they will tell you all of the hurdles they've overcome to reach where they are now. Unfortunately not everything is as easy as we would all wish, but if you sit about feeling bad and filling yourself up with negative thoughts and anger then it's not really solving anything, although definitely use your favourite music or hobby to release any tension.

Secondly, I like the quote because it's a reminder that the gifts can come at any random opportunity. Opportunities and people can come at any random time, often it's there's a negative before a positive. Likewise, it will rain before you get a rainbow! So basically, when you think about it, for every negative thing that happens, there is a positive right around the corner, if you just believe it and accept it. Some positives get overlooked but right here right now, you are a lucky individual.

It's actually true that sometimes when particular things don't work out, it's actually a blessing in disguise, so if something disappointing happens, I'm trying to learn not to be too disheartened. It's a really difficult thing obviously, I try and do whatever I can to distract myself from it!

I've only really been feeling philosophical for a few months, often down to the amount of quotes I read, but I feel like they get me thinking and I like that. Often these quotes can have a real positive impact on me and are a really quick way to put a bit of positivity into your mind. I will be doing a review on Demi Lovato's book very shortly, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

I hope this has been an interesting read!
Thank you for checking this post out!
