May 2015 Favourites

Hiya everyone! So I've never done one of these before, but I've had quite a lot of favourites this month so I thought I'd speak about them!! Let me know if you'd like to see me do a regular Favourites section as part of the blog!

Collection's Little Mix Perrie Lipstick: Purple:
I actually lost this and had been looking around for it for ages, when I suddenly discovered it in the bottom of my schoolbag at the beginning of May. Admittedly, it's probably not really the colour for this season, but I was so happy to find it that I've been loving using it! It's such a nice purple shade and I love wearing it!
I also did a review of it on my blog quite a few months back I will link it here:

So..Sexy Bodyspray:
This bodyspray honestly smells so gorgeous! It's strong which is great as I find some bodysprays don't always stay with you for as long but this one stays put for hours and you can reapply if you want more but it's just such good value! I'm not great at describing scents but it's definitely one to try out if you like bold scents!

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Moisturiser:
This is my all-time favourite moisturiser. It is great for sensitive skin and just makes your skin feel so much softer and looked after. It has multi-vitamins in so it's clearly doing something right! I love it so much!

Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash:
I've been loving using this facial wash lately, it makes me feel so much more refreshed in the mornings and definitely wakes me up! I love the smell of it and it feels like it's really taking care of my skin. It's so good and really affordable too!
I also did a review of this a few months back which I'll link:

Carly Rae Jepson - I Really Like You
I was obsessed with this last month also, but honestly I love it. I know it's cheesy but it's also very very catchy and fab. I'm still actually gutted it didn't get higher in the chart, it definitely deserved to be #1 like Call Me Maybe was! The video is also hilarious although I always question why Justin Bieber makes a very random dancing appearance at the end, as it's only for like less than 30 seconds? It's very random, but honestly the video is worth a watch!

Aston Merrygold - Get Stupid
I was so excited for Aston's debut release and this seriously does not disappoint!! A perfect mixture of Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars, this track is honestly so funky and such a feel good song that I pray gets the recognition it deserves!! He's smashed it!

Janelle Monae - Yoga
I've liked a few of Janelle Monae's previous songs and when I heard this I got so excited! It's such a great track that makes you just want to get up and dance. It's another song I pray gets the recognition it deserves, I'd love to see this get into the Top 10 at least! It's fab!

Alesha Dixon - The Way We Are
I've always been a fan of Alesha Dixon and honestly love this song so much, the music makes me feel extremely summery! The video puts me in a cheery mood as Alesha's smile just lights it up and makes me feel so summery! It deserves to do really well, I hope it does and it has gotten me excited for Alesha's next album release!

Little Mix - Black Magic
Little Mix are back with another new single! This one is very eighties and has such a fun, infectious vibe that you can't dislike it! It's more poppy than their last album releases but honestly it's such a fun summery song!
I also love the music video! They all look so beautiful! My favourite scene in the video is when they're all sat in the circle trying to concoct the spell! They all look so cute!

Nicki Minaj ft Beyonce - Feelin Myself
I've fallen back in love with this after the video emerged, although seemingly only available on Tidal at the moment, unless you witnessed any links which have since been deleted! It's honestly so catchy and just a perfect mix of Bey and Nicki and you just can't deny how fab they are together!
Audio not official music video:

Coronation Street:
I've honestly been gripped so much to Corrie this month, although absolutely heartbroken for Zeedan, Alya and Leanne who lost Kal in the fire. I was so gripped that I was frustrated everytime it ended as I wanted to see more! I love it when a soap has you like this!

Britain's Got Talent:
It's that time of year where I'm hooked to Britain's Got Talent, which I just love for the randomness. I love the judges too, David Walliams' banter with Simon Cowell is honestly the best. And my favourite TV presenters Ant and Dec also, what more could you ask for?

Eurovision Song Contest 2015:
I don't know about you, but I love Eurovision!! I just love the fact that all of the countries come together for one night and the performances are just so spectacular! I was a huge fan of Sweden's entry so I was happy when they won!! It was a great night and also was made even more great by the brilliant Graham Norton's commentary, because let's face it, it wouldn't be the same without him would it?

I've been really loving Eve Bennett's channel lately, she's so sassy and seems so lovely, I just feel like she is really true to herself and she's very entertaining! I'm definitely a huge fan of her!
Check out her channel here:

Thank you so much for reading this blog post, what have been your favourites this May? And are you a fan of any of mine? Let me know!

Peach on The Beach Bourjois Lip Crayon Review

Hiya everybody!

So this blog post is going to be focused on this wonderful product which I purchased during the end of 2014. It's the Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach!

During the later months of 2014, I became quite hooked with lip crayons and my collection started growing.
This was a lip crayon which I liked the sound of as I saw Zoella mention it in her Drugstore video and she was wearing it and it looked like a very nice fresh peachy coral colour!
I bought it and definitely do not regret it!
These lip crayons are a little more pricier than some of the others I've seen for example Rimmel, although these have a slightly better quality I'd say, although I am a HUGE fan of the Rimmel ones!

The colour itself can be worn with one coat for a light coral finish or if you prefer more colour then you can build it up and make your lips bright peach if you feel you want to.
It is such a beautiful colour and makes me feel summery whenever I'm wearing it.
It doesn't have much of a scent as the Rimmel ones do, but it does smell nice!
It claims to be waterproof and include SPF 15, as well as hydration for up to 10 hours.
I wouldn't say it was particularly waterproof or hydrate you for up to 10 hours, but I do think it definitely hydrates your lips for quite a few hours, they always feel really moisturised after I've worn the product.

The fact it has SPF 15 means it is protecting your lips from the sunrays, which is also another bonus!
It definitely leaves quite a glossy finish although not too glossy, you can always do a little blot to rid of some of the shine if you'd prefer it without. Another bonus I feel for this product is that it isn't sticky! It's a glossy product but isn't sticky which I'm very happy about, especially with long hair, which can often be a problem if you're out and about and your hair sticks to your lips! It shouldn't be a particular problem for this lip crayon!

For some reason, this photo kept rotating? Apologies! It should be rotated left haha!

It does rub off after a while so you will need to reapply it but it does have a rather good staying power which I think is necessary if you're going to spend £7.99 on a lip product, you really hope you're getting a lot.
And to be honest, I feel you are although I would prefer the price to be slightly cheaper, but honestly it is worth the money, so much that I'm already planning my next ones to buy, I've had my eye on Plum Russian for months now!!

All in all, I think this product is definitely a winner and it's definitely opened my eyes to using more Bourjois products, I love this lip crayon and would definitely recommend it to anyone who's searching for a nice everyday coral colour, as it's great alternative to lipstick as it provides a lot of nourishment and care for your lips as well as making them look a gorgeous colour!

You can buy them at Boots and Superdrug! Here are links:

Do you own any of the Bourjois lip crayons? What are your opinions? I'd love to hear what you think, feel free to leave comments below!!
Thank you all so much for reading this blog post! It means a lot!

What YouTubers Have Taught Me

Hiya everyone!
So recently I'd been thinking about how people criticise youtubers for all kinds of reasons and it just got me thinking, that in actual fact, for me personally, they have taught me a lot and got me through some not so nice times. They really don't deserve any of the crap that people give them and I think it's incredible what they have achieved! Here is a few things that youtubers have taught me!

* About me as a person
I didn't really know what was happening to me and was really confused, but when I saw Zoella's Anxiety video and blog posts, I felt comforted as I began to realise I wasn't alone in what was happening to me and it just gave me such a sense of comfort and I'm honestly so so grateful for everything she has done.

* Make the most of the littlest things
Something youtubers have taught me is to make the most of everything, as anything can be fun if you make it fun. It's definitely helped me get more out of some of the things I've done and been to, just because I've tried to make the most out of it and get as much happiness as I can out of it. Jonathon Joly definitely preaches this a lot and I've also learned this a lot from Zoella, and to be honest most of the youtubers!

* Makeup Techniques
I've learned so many makeup techniques over the years from people like Michelle Phan, MakeupByLeinaBaaaby, Tanya Burr, the list goes on! These tips have all been really beneficial to me!

* Product Tips
I've had so many product tips, from so many youtubers that it's impossible to list them all, but some of them being Zoella, MakeupbyLeinaBaaaby, Neesey, Eve Bennett, Tanya Burr, the list goes on considerably. I get to hear so many products mentioned and see so many items which helps me into picking what I'd like to choose and try myself.

* Seeing the funny side of unfortunate events
If things go wrong or awkward, I've learned to have a sense of humour over some of these incidents. Seeing the funny side can totally calm the situation down and help you in dealing with it!
This is partially due to Dan Howell aka Danisnotonfire, who manages to make uncool cool! His stories of incidents that have happened to him just gives you reassurance that you can still be an amazing person even with this unfortunate and awkward incidents happening to you!
Jarmaine aka Jlovesmac1 has also inspired me to develop my sense of humour.

* General lifestyle advice
Louise aka Sprinkleofglitter is honestly one of the most kind-hearted youtubers out there and I've taken in a lot of her advice and a lot of the positivity which she sends out to her subscribers. She has such a warm personality and it rubs off on you as a subscriber.

* It's great to be different and you shouldn't care about it
Neesey has an amazing personality and she has such a great attitude throughout her videos and it's inspired me to feel comfortable in doing what I want to do regardless of what others may think.
Lilly Singh aka Superwoman also has an amazing personality and stays true to herself which I think is really important!

* Make a Positive Change
Zoella, SprinkleofGlitter and IISuperwomanII have definitely inspired me to make positive changes to my life and push myself to do more things, even if I'm feeling a little anxious!

* Capture the memories
This is mostly inspired by Vivian Zhu who was one of the first people I watched that made actual vlogs about her day to day life, she and Zoella inspired me to capture these memories as they are great to look back on and it makes you feel good (especially if your memory isn't up to scratch for some things!)

Youtubers mentioned: - Zoella - The SacconeJolys - Michelle Phan - Leina - Tanya Burr - Neesey - Eve Bennett - Dan Howell - Jarmaine - Louise - Lilly Singh - Vivian Zhu

As you can see, I really appreciate the youtubers and YouTube culture. I honestly think they get too much criticism sometimes, often from people who don't understand what an amazing thing YouTube is and what it has given to people!

Thank you so much for reading this post!
Please feel free to comment below with anything you've learned from youtubers!
Also, this month is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth!
If you haven't already seen, I did a little blog post about it

Once again thank you for reading!

Mental Health Awareness Month

Hi everybody! So whether you've heard about it or not, this month is
"Mental Health Awareness Month"
I felt that this is such a somewhat uneducated topic for so many people, and I feel that it would be a good idea to spread awareness of it. Lack of awareness can be a very negative thing as if people aren't educated on some of the aspects of mental health, it can lead to them being ignorant or just saying or coming out with things that either aren't true or are just hurtful. We should never stop raising awareness of these things!

There are many kinds of mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, OCD, schizophrenia, eating disorders and more. It's estimated 1 in 4 people will suffer with a mental illness at any time.

It is so, so important to understand that mental disorders can make lives incredibly difficult and not having an ignorant attitude to certain mental health problems is such a key element.
By reducing the stigma around mental health, I do believe that people struggling to get help for these issues will feel comfortable and able to.

Unfortunately, some people still have this idea that just because you can't "see" an issue, there isn't one. There are so many people struggling because they feel they can't talk about their problems and feel as though they're going to be judged on what they're going through and how their mind works. They can also feel as though they "can't do" something and it can really have a damaging and destructive effect on someone.

I saw a quote which was "Not all pain is physical and not all wounds are visible".
This is SO true and just because someone is wearing a bright smile, doesn't mean they have no problems and they aren't fighting something extremely difficult at that given time.

The key is NOT to be judgemental. We're all different and we all have our ways and we all operate differently. It doesn't mean that we're any less of a good person or any less of a capable person. We're all fabulous humans here ;)

Mental health is something really difficult to control and the mind can be a pretty crazy thing at times!

That is why talking about it and our own experiences can give people the confidence to realise that they're not alone and that some of the things they're facing, other people are facing too. It is amazing the sense of relation you have once you find an experience similar to yours.

I know that Zoella's video on Anxiety definitely made me realise what was happening to me and I got a huge sense of comfort, as I'd gone on thinking that these things were only happening to me. I became a lot more able to "accept" what was happening to me than me just dismissing myself as "stupid" or "strange" which was what I'd been telling myself prior to seeing the video. I didn't have an understanding of what was happening to me.

That is an example of the fact that sharing your story, can help many others feel comfortable into accepting what they're dealing with, as accepting it can take a long time. Once the acceptance is there, getting help is the way forward!
I've personally not shared all of the aspects of what I go through, I may do a blog post on it in the future!

It's a confusing little journey, but it's so important that you have great support around you, whether it's in person or online, everybody deserves to feel good about themselves.

Together, we can stomp out the stigma and raise awareness that sometimes it is difficult to control the way we think, the most important thing is to recognise it and get the help you not only need, but you DESERVE. Nobody deserves to live an unhappy life, everybody should be entitled to happiness and you should do what YOU need to do for YOU.

If you feel as though you're struggling, try and have a little look around some of the quotes on Google. Some of them can be really refreshing and make you feel so much better. It's a good way of cleansing your mind and adding a little bit of positivity to your soul.

Also please remember NOBODY IS PERFECT. We all have imperfections.

Thank you so much for reading this post, please feel free to leave a comment or leave below any blog posts or tweets you've made about Mental Health Awareness Month. If you would like me to do any other posts regarding mental health, let me know! Please let me know what you think in the comments! I'd love to have a little read of your thoughts!

Thank you so much for reading and remember to be respectful!

You're Not Stupid

Hiya everybody! So I rediscovered this little quote that I always loved because my old form tutor has it stuck up in his classroom.

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid" - Einstein

I love this quote simply because its so true. We're all judged on how we do certain things and obviously we're not all going to be absolutely amazing at the same things.

If you judge my singing against someone like Beyonce or Ed Sheeran then it's obvious that I'm not going to be as good, because you're judging me on my ability to sing which unfortunately isn't my strongest point. And Beyonce and Ed Sheeran are EXTREMELY talented at singing so it's clear that I'm going to look stupid alongside them. But it doesn't mean any of us are "stupid".

It's the same with exams. Exams only really test your memory. They don't particularly test your knowledge.
We all learn in different ways and we all have different strengths and weaknesses. During my GCSE years, I used to get A's and B's in the Geography coursework and then completely fuck up my exams and get U's, which even my teacher didn't really understand.
I could obviously do the work but clearly something went wrong every time I did the exams! Unfortunately, I am someone who struggles a lot with exams and is prone to panic attacks during them, which is extremely difficult and makes achieving my grades even harder because often even when I study hard and know my stuff, I can have a complete meltdown in the exam and throw away my marks just because of how anxious I feel on the day. It sucks but it's the truth!

But honestly, the truth is qualifications aren't everything. They are great and can help you with a lot of things but sometimes a little determination and your own work can get you further. I have had friends tell me of their relatives that have successful businesses without qualifications and look at Lord Sugar. He's one of the most successful businessman of all time and he's stated he doesn't have A levels and reportedly has 1 GCSE!

I'm not saying don't try hard in your exams because OBVIOUSLY you should and it would be in your best interest to. Results are definitely important! But don't be disheartened if you don't get the grade you want because it doesn't mean you're less clever than anyone, everybody has their talents and the things they are good at. There are always other ways of getting the career that you want, you just have to work around and have a little browse around what you can find! And have determination! Keep revising and keep motivating yourself to do well in your exams, but don't be too disheartened if it doesn't go to plan! There will be a way!!

And you're not stupid!

I hope this little post is reassuring to anybody who is feeling particularly anxious about exam season which is coming up, I wish you all the best of luck, keep at the revision! Keep a positive and healthy mindset!

The Emoji Tag

Hiya everyone! So I was inspired by the fabulous Neesey (if you've not checked her out you SRSLY NEED TO LIKE WHERE YOU BEEN?) to do the Emoji Tag!
You basically mention 5 emojis which you feel represent yourself.
Exciting stuff!!

I'll link Neesey's YouTube video, for those who haven't seen it yet! Subscribe to her, she's amazing!!

So mine would probably be:

The Sassy Hand Girl
just because I feel like some of the things I say can be sassy sometimes, I just feel as though if it was acceptable to replicate the emojis in real life, I'd probably use it a lot! It makes me smile a lot and feel like it would be good representation.

Chicken Emoji
because I just love chicken. It's just far too fab. That is all.

The Music Notes Emoji
I didn't want to be obvious with which ones I'd chosen but honestly the music note or something music related had to apply to me cos I always have my headphones in with some song playing. I can't help it! I just felt like it had to be included.

The Crying Laughter Emoji
Because 99.% of the time, I'm laughing at something.

Clapping Emoji
I feel this one represents me because I frequently clap at people no matter how big or small the achievement is (okay not THAT frequently I'm not weird) but yeah. Also, because my friends all love the fact I use hand gestures a lot and often say sentences and don't even realise I'm using my hands too much. This is also good for sarcasm, something else I frequently use haha.

Now I sound slightly weird, but do you think you guys can think of any quirkier emojis that represent you? I'd love to read them so I tag you all to do this tag and feel free to post your responses in the comments section! I'll have a read!

Thank you so much for reading this post!
