Let's Reflect: 2015

Hi everyone!
Well I honestly cannot believe I'm writing another Let's Reflect year end post. It feels 2 minutes since I wrote the 2014 entry. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are enjoying the festive season.

I started off this year knowing it was going to be the biggest changing year of my life so far. Even though I thought I was prepared for it, I wasn't.
I'm going to be honest, this year has been so so difficult.
There's been loads of emotions and a lot of times where I've felt lost and just confused. I've been really disappointed at myself on many occasions.
That's not to say I've not had good times too, because I seriously have, I just have been weighed down by the bad points of the year in particular.

The beginning of the year was tough in the fact that my mum was unwell in hospital and during that point my dog died, who had been my auntie's, which was a tough time because it was so sudden and somewhat traumatic day. I feel sick whenever I think about it. It was a really weird time and I do wonder how I managed to be honest and I think it was down to those close to me who did help me during that time, Eastenders 30th anniversary distraction and YouTube. Oh and my media project (more on that later!)

I did struggle with my anxiety getting worse towards the end of sixth form, with exams getting even more difficult to complete. I left sixth form, which also happened to be the school I had attended for 7 years, which was a big jump and really sad.

Leavers Ball was also a prominent moment as it was the last time our entire year group would be together and it was a really enjoyable night which led to me dancing for hours non-stop. It was a great time and everybody looked amazing and it was truly celebrating the year group we had been for the past 7 years and I still can't believe it is over.

I didn't really take to leaving school well and I was a bit overwhelmed by everything changing. Even though I thought I was prepared for it, I wasn't. After leaving school, the past few months have been some of the hardest of my life, it's definitely been really really difficult keeping a smile and keeping motivated, whilst feeling lost, worthless and stupid. It's been really tough and I still get stuck on it now to be honest, just because I feel a bit stuck. And frustrated with myself for not having the confidence to do certain things and that anxiety still has control of me.

I'm particularly grateful for the people who have been supportive and good to me.

Even though it's been a tough year there has been some moments where I've pushed on and got through things more easily or better than I first thought.

It's not all negative though, there's been good parts too!

I managed to produce a music video as part of my A Level media coursework, which I didn't really know I was capable of doing, and one of my other teachers seemed against music videos but my other media teacher encouraged me to challenge myself cos she believed I'd do a good job. I did the video to The Saturdays song 'Fall' using one of my friends as an actor and even though I do cringe at some parts of it, I am proud of what I made. I really took my time to plan it thoroughly and everything and I'm happy with it especially with my limited solo use of Adobe Premiere Pro (the programme used for editing). I did manage to get a B for it!

There's battles that have never been spoken of which I have begun to face this year. For example from February onwards I have managed to accomplish something which I never really felt I could do, it seemed impossible, but it was something I absolutely had to take control of.

Also, I managed to talk a bit more about anxiety to people around me, even my parents, although I'm not sure they really understand. Even though it doesn't feel like progress, it is certainly something which has progressed from keeping my mouth shut during earlier years.

My circle of bloggers and youtubers that I read and watch has also grown during 2015, with me becoming an avid fan of many other blogs and youtubers, which I will mention in a post coming sometime next week talking about 2015 favourites!)

I completed BlogTober in October 2015 which meant I wrote a blog post every single day of October. It was fun even though at times I was hoping my posts were enough! It is something I would definitely like to do again in 2016, but not a regular thing, I will probably either wait till October again for BlogTober or possibly do Blogmas instead! Either way, I would love to do another post-every-single-day-of-the-month sort of thing during 2016!

This also led to me doing my very first guest post for Kristina's blog, which I will link below. I wrote about how to be there for a friend with a mental illness and it has approx 311 views at the moment with comments so I am very chuffed that it got read. It was great being in Kristina's blog and it's made me realise that guest posts are something I'd like to do more of both in my own blog and for others! In terms of my blog, I have been very happy with the growing views of my blog and knowing that people are reading and hopefully enjoying my content makes me happy and hope that I can continue with that next year.

I also was featured on Chanelle Hayley's Meet the Blogger post during April, which was a great opportunity!
Here is the link if you wish to read it:

I had some great times with friends too (for example the quest for McDonalds with Emily) which I am really grateful for and some good conversations too which makes me very happy to think back on.

Beautywise, I now own my first ever MAC lipstick from this year. I got Rebel for Christmas and it is beautiful! I also experimented with false eyelashes a bit this year although not actually out, as I'm still not a pro yet, one of my friends is though so hopefully I can learn soon from her haha!

I suppose what I've learned from all of this is that I'm still here and 2016 is just around the corner. I really really need to be more positive and appreciative this year. I said this last year but it can be hard to follow.

I really want 2016 to be a happy, healthy year for me, I want to be able to gain control of myself again and accomplish things. I know 2016 will have its hard bits as I still have to decide whether to take a leap and do university, I just hope I have the strength to keep a smile on my face as 2015 really tested me. I just want to treat myself better this next year! I'd also love to take a push with my blog and continue writing and posting content.

I hope you all have a very Happy New Year and that 2016 is a happy, healthy and successful year for us all!

Holly Jolly Christmas Tag

Hi everyone!

So I noticed that the absolutely lovely Chanelle did this tag and I had been trying to find a Christmas tag to do as I did the main one last year, however this features different questions! I thought I would complete it! Please check out Chanelle's post and be sure to follow her blog! It's definitely one of my favourites!

1. Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until last minute?
I'm quite a mixed person for Christmas shopping. Sometimes I will be organised and start thinking in October/November, sometimes it comes quite late. I often have a few ideas in my mind about what to buy someone but then not buy them until a few weeks later!

2. If you could be in any Christmas movie what would it be?
I would say either Love Actually because there are some cute storylines in that film, or Arthur Christmas because I honestly love Arthur as a character. He is such a sweetheart and the elves would be fun too!

3. Which do you like better: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
If you had asked me this when I was younger I would say Christmas Day, but these days I think Christmas Eve because it's a really exciting day and it's the last day where you can be majorly festive before the actual event itself.

4. When does your family put up their Christmas tree and who decorates it?
We usually put it up the first week of December and it is usually me and my mum who decorate it. When my brother was at home, he would do it too, but these days it is just me and my mum decorating it and we put Christmas music on in the background.

5. White lights or coloured lights?
We have coloured lights on our tree but I honestly think it's completely up to you, white lights can have a really classy effect but it is totally up to you and the general mood of your room.

6. Are you guilty of peeking at your presents or do you like to be surprised?
I like to pick the presents up and have a bit of a feel around and when I was younger I would be out of bed so early peeking at my pillowcase to see what had been brought.

7. Would you rather live in a gingerbread house or Santa’s workshop?
I was going to say Gingerbread house but then if I was thinking that if I was at Santa's workshop, someone could build me a gingerbread house and then I wouldn't have the issue of eating my own home and being technically homeless!

8. Tell us your Christmas Eve traditions.
I don't really have as many Christmas Eve traditions these days, but what I do like to do is watch The Snowman. It's one of my favourite all time Christmas films and I feel so nostalgic watching it and it is such a special movie to me.

9. If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone, who would it be?
Probably Ricky Norwood from Eastenders who is one of my favourite people ever. I find him so interesting and just brilliant. I have so much love for this guy! Or if I couldn't have Ricky, another one of my faves at the moment is Pasha Kovalev from Strictly Come Dancing. He is extremely pleasing to the eye...

10. What tops your tree?
A fairy!

I feel like that ended a bit abruptly, but never mind! I would love to see some of your answers so definitely tag me on Twitter EclairsCares and I will have a read!
I hope you are all in a very festive mood!

Essential 5 Makeup Items For The Festive Season

Hi everyone!

Today's blog post is going to be 5 top makeup items for the Christmas and festive period.
Perfect for any celebrations or events you may have during Christmas!

* Red lip
My favourite red lips have been Rimmel's Lip Crayon in On Fire and also Clinique's Cherrypop Lipstick. Both are extremely moisturising on the lips and feel good as well as displaying a bright and beautiful red shade. Perfect for the Christmas season, red lip is definitely a staple!

* Colour Tattoos Eyeshadows
I say the Maybelline Colour Tattoos as I am a big fan of them but also because a lot of them are sparkly and glittery which is a definite must have for this festive season! There is also a variety of shades which you can pick up, and are easily blendable, what more could you need? I recommend On and On Bronze and Immortal Charcoal.

* Lip Liner
A lip liner is a great item to have especially with red lips, I actually don't own one as of yet but I'm eyeing up one of the red shades I saw in Kiko and I've yet to purchase it! However lip liners are particularly useful at this time of year to stop the bright lip colours bleeding away from your lips.

* Fake eyelashes
Fake eyelashes are the perfect bonus for your eyes and in particular this season where there are loads of social gatherings to attend. Make sure you practice before applying as you don't want it to go wrong as you're about to leave! Eyelure and Tanya Burr make great eyelashes, with Tanya Burr's being particularly light on the eye.

* Lip Balm
This is definitely a season where dry lips can occur and a good lip balm is definitely something to bear in mind! Palmers Cocoa Butter Lipbalm and Carmex Lipbalms are both great for this season as well as Nivea's extensive range. This is quite a heavy lip product filled post!

Do you have any essential makeup items for the festive season?
Let me know below in the comments!

November 2015 Favourites

Hi everyone! Here are my November 2015 Favourites! I hope you enjoy reading this post and if you have liked anything from my list, over the past month, do let me know!

Let's begin!

Avon Pink Crush Lipstick
This lipstick has been a very faithful addition to my makeup collection a few years ago. I have recently been reaching for it a lot and it is a truly beautiful pink shade which is really easy to wear and suits a lot of skin tones. It is a gorgeous shade and although we have not had an Avon catalogue in a while, I hope it is still available!

Terry's Segsations
I have a slight chocolate obsession lately and in particular these tasty treats! They are so so nice and I cant recommend them enough!

Beauticology Gingerbread Body Wash
I have been quite into Gingerbread this month both the taste and the scent. this body wash smells so gingery and very seasonal. It's not the best body wash I've used but it's mainly the scent which I'm loving it for at the moment.

Vanessa White - Don't Wanna Be Your Lover
Vanessa. I've mentioned how I loved her last solo track 'Relationship Goals' and for me, I love this one more! It has some serious Aaliyah vibes and it's absolutely on point R&B sounds make it a winner for me. I'm really excited for what else there is to come for this fabulous lady and I just love her so much.

Ariana Grande - Focus
I am a huge fan of this song, even though I do feel it is similar to Problem but a less catchy version. I do love it however.

Fleur East - Sax
I knew Fleur was going to go on to things even whilst X Factor was on last year and this is everything her debut single could have been. On fire from start to finish! Her vocals and performance skills are insanely good!

KSI ft JME - Keep Up
Having only heard this in November and being aware of KSI, I did find myself loving this track. The heavy beats are my favourite part of this track and it even features vocals from rapper JME. Definitely one for the hiphop fans!

Basement Jaxx - Do Your Thing
I found myself listening to this song in like July/August but I don't think it ever got a mention on here. Now, I do believe because of Peter Andre's Charleston on Strictly Come Dancing, its come back in to my head again. An absolute tune.

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!
I've been hooked on I'm A Celeb this year particularly, it's such a crazy reality TV show where you have no idea what is going to happen. Ant and Dec are the best presenters and prove themselves to be just as entertaining as ever, it is too good. Seeing a load of celebrities finding their way in a jungle whilst competing the famous Bushtucker Trials is literally another thing which screams it's nearly Christmas!

The Apprentice
I am a big fan of the Apprentice and this series is full of all of the dramas. I'm not going to do spoilers but it's honestly such a great programme and one that I am a big fan of.

Thank you so much for reading this blog post!
