Creightons Frizz No More Sleek & Shine Miracle Serum Review

Hey everyone!

Today's blog post is about a miracle serum which has saved my life over the past couple of weeks. I noticed my hair was suffering with frizz because the new hair dryer I'm using at uni seems to be a lot more powerful and I felt like I wanted some way to combat against the frizz. Obviously I could have just got a heat protectant but I felt that as my hair is very thick and gets quite frizzy generally, a frizz product would be my better option.

I'd like to apologise for the picture quality, as I have limited/no storage on my phone at the moment and my camera actually broke today, so yeah... that's annoying!

This is where Creightons Frizz No More Sleek and Shine Miracle Serum comes into action! I bought this spray bottle in my local Savers meaning it was ridiculously cheap and it's done me well!

You simply spray a little bit into your hand, and rub it into your hair either wet or dry, but as I'll mention later I feel it is better to do it when the hair is wet.
It contains argon oil which makes your hair feel conditioned and probably one of the reasons why it feels really soft afterwards!!

It makes my hair feel so much softer and fluffier than usual which can also be handy as my hair gets extremely knotty too, I've noticed a difference in the amount of knots I get after using this.
One thing I will say is that you have to be careful with your application as sometimes I've found it does all stick at one part of my hair and make it look a little greasy, so it's best to apply it when the hair is wet. It smells really good too, it's a hard scent to describe but it's really nice!!

I feel like it does a really good job for my hair and am really glad I tried it out!

I suggest that any of you with frizz-prone thick hair to try this and see what you think!!

The Powerful Mind Of Anxiety & The Amygdala

Hey!

So at pretty much the very start of university, I bought a book titled How To Master Anxiety by Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell, I was still quite mixed up and wanted to have a book with me which would literally be to hand and offer me advice and as I've never actually sat down and read a book regarding mental health and anxiety. The closest book I've ever read to any kind of self-help book is Demi Lovato's Staying Strong 365 Days, which one of my best friends gave me as a present just under 2 years ago. I was in Waterstones and there were some other interesting looking books looking into anxiety but determined not to spend too much money, I went for How To Master Anxiety.

I've not properly read every single chapter yet, but there was one chapter which really seemed to click with me and made me understand a bit better some of the little itty struggles I may have.

It is all about the powerfulness of the amygdala, a little part of the brain which is an emotional part of the brain. It stores information from our unconscious thoughts and remembers them, meaning that experiences or anything to do with those experiences are stored. So if any part of the experience is suddenly remembered or triggered or matches a situation you've been in before, it sets you off feeling anxious.

This is definitely something which applies to me which is extremely annoying as personally for me, my amygdala manages to remember even the littlest of things, even stuff like what I'm wearing or what I've eaten and I've got to remind myself that certain things are not the cause of my anxiety and should not worth getting so stressed over. Sometimes I do find myself avoiding certain clothes or even makeup items because my amygdala has stored them as being part of a stressful scenario (even when they had nothing to do with it) Also means sometimes I'll avoid wearing some of my favourite stuff just in case I trigger something and then my amygdala does remember it for the wrong reason.
For others it could be particular routes or places which their minds might have registered, I always remember Zoe aka Zoella mentioning in her Anxiety video that she used to have panic attacks in Paddington train station, because one time she had one and they kept recurring and returning.
It's incredible that the mind is so powerful and clever to manage to remember all of these things however it is also incredibly annoying too if it is causing you uncomfortable and unwanted thoughts!

I'm not sure if any of this is making sense but it may if you are suffering.

It's something that I'm still working on and trying to improve with myself as I really wish to be able to live a more free and funfilled life, without having annoying little thoughts taking up space and taking the joy out of everything! It's constantly an aim of mine to just work past everything. I wish to be able to do what I want without my amygdala failing me and making me question and second guess what I want/should do.

Dealing with thoughts like this is something you have to do at your own pace, do what you feel comfortable, aim to push yourself but don't aim to push yourself too far too fast. I've dealt with a bad case of unwanted thoughts before which I've not really talked about on here yet but I feel like if you try and read loads of positive words or quotes to try and overbalance the negative ones, it could have an effect. For example, maybe write a list of all of the little achievements you've managed and maybe do a little pinboard of quotes or pictures which remind you of the achievements. I find that following quote pages on Instagram is a great way to start the day with a mindful quote in your brain which can give you a lease of life for the start of the day.

I'd love to hear any comments you may have!
I hope you're well doing really well!

October 2016 Favourites

Hiya everyone!

October Favourites time!! I've not had a lot of beauty favourites this month as I've had to leave a lot of my stuff at home as I couldn't take it all to uni and I've also not been trying out as many products either because I've actually just not been as into makeup recently, sadly, I'm not sure why!! I've been so tired I've just not had the time to do it. I've definitely been more into buying clothes lately, which means I've managed to go almost 2 months without buying any makeup which is a record for me!! Anyways let's get on with the Favourites!!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This has been an absolute life saviour over the last month, my skin hasn't been its best, probably because of the change of starting university and possibly not eating as healthily as I was at home. It's served me well through breakouts as well as covering up my tired undereye circles too. I know a lot of bloggers rave about this concealer and it's certainly an extremely great bargain!
I also had a little look at my October Favourites for last year and it was in there too!

Lady GaGa - Perfect Illusion
I first heard this in September and it has grown on me in recent weeks, the second half of the song is my favourite part, the key change just makes it come alive even more! I still love GaGa, and have done since her first album and am intrigued to hear Joanne, her newly released album to see what direction she has decided to take this album into.

Vanessa White ft Illa J - Low Key
I think I've already mentioned how much love I have for Vanessa and her solo material as well as The Saturdays music, and this new track from her 'Low Key' is hitting my R&B soul hard.

Jennifer Lopez - So GoodYou all know how much I love Jennifer Lopez, and this song is taken from her A.K.A album, I found myself listening to this track a lot during October.

Groove Armada ft Mutya Buena - Song 4 Mutya (Out Of Control)This reminds me of Summer 2007, but still a really catchy little track which got stuck in my head throughout the month!!

Beyoncé - HauntedNot sure whether it's because Halloween happened this month but I was listening to Haunted, a track from Beyoncé's self titled album released in 2013.

Little Mix - Shout Out To My ExThe Little Mix lasses are back again with another new era which looks set to be one of their most exciting yet! Shout Out To My Ex was definitely a grower for me but as I am a massive LM fan it didn't take long!! I love the video and Perrie especially looks absolutely beautiful. Also yay for it being number one for the third week running!!

Duran Duran - Hungry Like The WolfAnother slightly themed Halloween track for October, I've been enjoying this through the month too. Brings back memories of Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev's Paso Doble which was danced to this back in 2012.

Strictly Come Dancing
It was only a matter of time before Strictly entered my Favourites again. I've been enjoying this series as usual however I am gutted that professionals Janette Manrara and Pasha Kovalev are out so early. Also I strongly feel that Tameka should not have gone so early, she had more to give! Although in terms of their dance off, Laura should not have gone either. They simply both should not have both been there. However saying that, I've loved watching the new routines and the new dance partnerships grow. Halloween week happened last week and that is always so much fun! The costumes and the makeup are always incredible!

Thank you so much for reading and let me know what your Favourites of the month have been!!

My Name My Questions Tag

Hiya!

Today's blog post is actually a tag which I'm not even sure if it already exists or whether I've created something here? Basically, I thought that you could use either your name or your blog name and answer questions from each letter of it. For example I'm using ECLAIRSCARES so it goes like this:

E - The last eye product you bought? Collection's Fast Stroke eyeliner, to replace my old stale one!
C - Favourite colour?  Purple!!
L - Last Lush product you used? Think Pink bath bomb, it smells gorgeous and turns the water pink!
A - Age you were when you first started wearing makeup? I started wearing mascara around 12/13.
I - If you were on a desert island and could only listen to 5 artists for the rest of your life, who would they be? Atm Beyoncé, The Saturdays, Little Mix, Aaliyah and maybe Jason Derulo.
R - Last person to ring you was..? My parents, a couple of days ago.
S - Favourite shower gel? Atm I'm obsessed with Zoella's Foam Sweet Foam & Sweet Inspirations Bath Latte

C - Item of clothing you are loving atm? A brown turtle neck top from New Look, it is so cute!
A - Last thing you ate? Raspberry muffin!
R - Favourite Rimmel product? Atm it is my Match Perfection foundation but I love 07 lipstick too!
E - Name an eyeshadow you love to use? Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Crème de Nude.
S - The last shampoo I used was? Probably my Timotei Pure.

I'd love to see you do this tag, comment below if you have done it and I'll give it a read!
Also I'd love to read your blog posts!
