Maybelline Master Strobing Stick Highlighter Review

Hey everyone!

Sooooooo... I unintentionally took a 3 week break from this blog, I'll admit it wasn't intentional as I did have loads of blog posts half-finished but I've actually not published a blog post on this blog since coming back to uni after Christmas. There's been a lot of emotions and work to get on with so I would say that's the main reason I've been a little behind schedule! I do have a 2016 Favourites post coming up at the weekend and also a January 2017 Favourites post scheduled for the week after!
It's embarrassing because one of my New Year Resolutions was to keep up my blogging schedule and look where we are! I do however apologise for this 3 week hiatus!

Anyway, to the actual point of the blog post, today I'm talking about Maybelline's Master Strobing Stick, the new highlighters I believe they brought out very recently!

I'll admit, I wasn't much of a highlighter person before buying this, I had a matte highlight as part of my Maybelline Contour kit, but never reached for it much as it's not what I'd truly want from a highlighter.

This however is such a beautiful pigmented shimmer, shows up really well in person and in photos. It has totally changed my perspective on highlight and I do love reaching for it when going out, especially at night time. It's creamy texture is a lot easier than a matte highlight, in my opinion.

The one I own is 100 (Light Iridescent) which I believe is the paler of the two, I had to make sure I went for this one as I do have very pale skin. It's pearlescent shine is extremely gorgeous.

It's very inexpensive as well which I think is great for if you are just starting out to use highlighter like me, it doesn't cost the Earth and you still manage to get an amazing shine from it. It really brightens your face and makes it appear more radiant. £6.99 is a great price for it and it's extremely affordable I'd say and the packaging is nice and simple yet pretty.

I'm really glad I own this now and would definitely recommend it!

Do any of you have any favourite highlighters, or have used this before??
Let me know in the comments!

Zoella Secret Scenta Set

So I recently bought Secret Scenta as part of a gift for my birthday, as I really like her body mist scents but actually at the time only owned Blissful Mistful. I'm someone who loves trying out different scents and sprays so I was eager to test them out!

Luckily, this gift set has given me the chance to have a try of all four of them.

Blissful Mistful
I already owned Blissful Mistful so knew what to expect from it as a body mist, but I do find it to be an extremely feminine and comforting scent. It's simply gorgeous and quite floral but feminine.

Let's Spritz
This might be my favourite out of the four, as it is extremely fruity and basically the Tuity Fruity scent became one of my favourites. I've used this one the most. It's probably the strongest scent out of all four, alongside Bake My Day.

Sweet Inspirations
Sweet Inspirations is a cosy scent which as you may know, is macaroon scented. It's very sweet but not too sickly, it's a good balance.

Bake My Day
Bake My Day's scent is extremely festive and wintery, a tasty gingerbread scent which is good enough to eat! It's one of the strongest out of all 4, it just smells so Christmassy! But I love it to the point where I would definitely wear it in other seasons too!

I love the set as the bottles are adorably small, perfect for those who would like to test out and see if they like the scents, or those who love the scents so much they'd prefer to have a travel size.
I love the fact that the bottles are literally miniatures of the full sized ones and that they didn't change the bottles.

Have you bought the Secret Scenta set, or do you own any of the standard sizes of the scents??
Which is your favourite? Let me know!!

December 2016 Favourites

Hiya everyone!!

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2017!! I hope you all have a great one!!

It's time to talk about my December 2016 Favourites! The festive period is definitely my favourite time of year so there's a fair few favourites in here. Also it would be good to mention that generally Christmas music has also been my Favourite this month but if I listed every single Christmas song I've listened to on my Christmas playlist, we'd probably be here for a long, long time so I'll just give them a little shout out at the start!! Read on to find out more!

Zoella Bake My Day Fragrance/Ginger cream
I feel like this has been quite an appropriate scent for this time of year, as it smells of gingerbread and vanilla, which is extremely festive. It smells good enough to eat (but don't!). The gingerbread cream is really long lasting.

NYX Kitten Heels
I mentioned this liquid lipstick in my Red Lipsticks post. I've been really loving it lately as it's so bright and beautifully matte on the lips. It's also perfect time of year for a red lippy and it's been my go-to for this month! NYX are a really great brand and it's a great quality liquid lipstick!

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick - Light Iridescent (100)
I'm not really sure I've mentioned this on my blog yet, but I got this for my birthday as I wanted a highlighter as the matte one I have in my contour set isn't really all that good. However this highlight is truly beautiful. It really gives you a healthy looking sheen, which I've loved.

Herbal Essences Shampoo
This shampoo has been a recent favourite, based solely on how beautiful it smells! It's a mixture of Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Passionflower and it is so gorgeous!!

Clean Bandit ft Anne Marie & Sean Paul - Rockabye
I was sooo late to the party with this one - it had been number one for 3 weeks here in the UK before I heard it. But I can honestly say it's a gorgeous song with a beautiful message. I'm kicking myself for being so late with it, it's such a good track.

The Weeknd - All I Know
I've discussed before in previous posts, how much I adore The Weeknd's voice, this song is an absolute masterpiece, I love the production of this song. It reminds me a little of some of the experimental R&B sounds Beyoncé has played around with on both her self-titled album and her Lemonade album and obviously that appeals to me!
I couldn't find a link for this on YouTube, but it's on Spotify & iTunes!

Louis Tomlinson & Steve Aoki - Just Hold On
Such a fresh and beautiful song, cannot express how proud I was of him performing this live on the X Factor final days after losing his mother, such a brave lad. His voice really excels in this track! I'm very impressed!

Fifth Harmony - The Life
I accidentally heard this following listening to That's My Girl on Spotify and forgetting to click pause. It's extremely catchy and reminds me of another song I love that I can't think of. I actually started listening to this before Camila left the group.

Swedish House Mafia - Greyhound
It's from a few years ago, but I found myself listening to this a lot recently!! Swedish House Mafia made some brilliant dance tracks prior to their split!

Thank you for reading!! What are some of your Favourites from December??
Let me know in the comments!!
