My Fave Places To Buy Clothing!

Hi everyone!

Today I thought I'd share with you my favourite places to buy clothing! Over the past couple of years I've definitely got more into fashion and been a bit more experimental with my clothes buying and my outfits. Time to discuss my favourite shops, carry on reading to find out...

Dress from Boohoo, Shoes from New Look

Boohoo has literally become a staple place for me to look for clothes. They have such amazing clothes and so many choices and the prices are extremely good too! My wishlist fills up so quickly and I'm always impressed with what I buy!

Primark (no website unfortunately!)
Primark is pretty much a shop I'm ALWAYS in and always buying things from. I've bought so many amazing things from Primark, to playsuits, lingerie, onesies, pyjamas and more! They have everything and the prices are fab as well.

Pretty Little Thing
I haven't bought too much from PLT, but they have some absolutely beautiful clothes and the ones I have bought are amazing and I don't regret buying from! I've also never had any delivery problems (touchwood) so far either despite what I've heard from others! They serve some amazing looks.

New Look
New Look's clothes are always very stunning and they are a high street shop which I'll always dip into whenever I'm in town! New Look don't disappoint with the styles they offer and I've also recently got into their shoes too! Definitely one of my favourite shops!

Even though I've actually never bought from Missguided, I absolutely love some of the clothes I've found on there! There's a huge selection of dressier clothes which I love and I'm sure one day I'll end up buying something from them!

George @ Asda
George at Asda may not be some people's first thoughts for clothes, but their clothes are such good quality! I've bought my black jeans from there a few years ago and they've stayed black and stayed in excellent quality!

I love Amazon for clothes, the reason being you can find loads of clothes that you might not find in regular shops, more quirkier and less conventional. I bought my Lemonade jumper from Amazon and I wasn't let down, I think they are a great place to invest in something a little out of the ordinary.

LOTD is a website I've only just become aware of, so I've not bought there yet but they have so many amazing clothes and for super, super cheap prices! I'm really tempted to invest and have a try of their clothes as some of their prices are as little as £5!

So there are my favourite places to shop clothes! What are yours? Let me know in the comments below!

Makeup Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette Review

Today's blog post will discuss the (Makeup) Revolution Reloaded Newtrals 2 Palette. I've been playing around with it recently and thought I'd give you a little insight into what I think of it.
Ultimately, this palette boasts a gorgeous collection of warm toned shades, with a mixture of shimmer and matte. These range from oranges, reds, browns, some of which I was intrigued to try as normally I tend to stay towards browns, silvers and neutral shades.

Although initially, this palette wasn't one I'd looked into much, whilst ordering my glitter shadows mentioned in my May Favourites from Superdrug a few weeks back, I found that buying something £4 or over would contribute to me getting free delivery, (it seemed a better offer than just spending almost as much on postage!)

So, a little apprehensively, I added this to my basket and thought I'd give it a go. I'd wanted to try some warmer tones and it seemed to be a great opportunity to go try this, as I own a Makeup Revolution palette already and knew it was amazing quality!

Revolution never seem to disappoint with the exceptional quality of their eyeshadows in addition to the price. The pigmentation is insanely good for the price of £4, you honestly would not expect them to be that price at all if you look at the formula.

The brand executes another fantastic product and proves once again to me that Revolution is a fantastic drugstore brand. 15 shades for £4 of that much quality is just unreal! As you can see you're given a variety of different shades and finishes, enough to give yourself various looks whether you're aiming towards a pink toned look or an orange one.

Although I've found that some of these shades don't really suit my eyes, the ones that do really make them pop and I love how they look. Another thing I'd say is that two of the brown toned shades are very, very similar. They are probably my two negatives over the palette, as everything else was great with it. The shades also don't have names but it's not too big of an issue.

Generally, I'd say it's definitely worth a buy, they are so easy to blend and such beautiful shades, for only £4, even if you aren't 100% sure about warm tones, I recommend you give this a go to have a play around with! That's what I did and I don't regret it!

Have you tried any of Revolution's eye palettes?

May 2018 Favourites

Welcome back to my blog and indeed to another edition of my monthly favourites. I cannot believe I'm writing my May Favourites as literally it feels like the start of the year was only last week! And also I can't believe my second year of university has ended (stay tuned for an upcoming reflection post on that!). But for now, here are my monthly favourites for May!

Revolution Refill Pressed Glitter - Glisten Up
I bought these as I knew I wanted to go as sparkly as I could for my university's end of year send off and the blue shade matched the top I was wearing. They were reasonably easy to apply and lasted so well for me! I may have to invest in the palette! For this pack you receive 5 different pressed glitters but I used two of them! There are some gorgeous shades in both sets! I'm lowkey tempted to purchase Glisten Here as well!

Herbal Essences Camomile Moisture Balance Shampoo
I'm fairly sure this has entered my favourites before, but I absolutely love the scent of this shampoo! It's so gorgeous and fresh! I'm not entirely sure if it's still sold as I've bought it in Bargain stores when I've recently purchased it, but I really would like it to come back!

Pretty Little Thing
Pretty Little Thing has been slaaaying with their new stock recently, my wishlist has slowly been building and building upwards! I've also bought two tops from them recently too and they are so cute.

Lisa Scott-Lee - Lately
Riot Act - California Soul
Artemesia - Bits + Pieces
Rita Ora, Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha & Cardi B - Girls
Nicki Minaj - Chun-Li
Sugababes - In The Middle
Jennifer Lopez ft Cardi B and DJ Khaled - Dinero
Keri Hilson - Intuition

Love Island (S1 and S2)
Hell's Kitchen

Vienna Mini Ice Creams
Tesco's Peppermint Tea
Aloe Vera Drink

Thank you for reading this post! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Get That Glow - Revolution's Vivid Baked Bronzer Review

Hi everyone!

So as we're approaching the summer months, there comes a time where a lot of us want that glowy bronzed look, especially if you're like me and you don't tan very easily, you either burn or stay pale!

This post will discuss the Vivid Baked Bronzer in the shade 'Ready To Go' by Makeup Revolution (Or Revolution as they are now known).

I think you will probably know a little about how I feel about this bronzer as I'm fairly sure it made it into my Favourites post a few months back but I thought I'd give it it's own post!

Upon buying it, I went out with not much to go on, wanting a high street bronzer, but nothing that was too full on as I know some bronzers don't suit me.

I gave Ready To Go a go (no pun intended) and instantly fell in love with it! As far as bronzers go, it's quite a shimmery bronzer which I think looks better on me because anything too deep looks a little strange on me as I have a very pale skin tone.
I find the fact it's shimmery takes away some of the boldness of the colour which I personally like.

Only a little goes a long way and it lasts a good few hours as well and is actually wearable on me without looking like I've caked myself in mud or something!

Definitely giving me a gorgeous glow, which is what I was going for.

It really impressed me and the price is only £4, it's a definite bargain! There's two other shades as well 'Rock on World' and 'Golden Days'.

I honestly think it's actually made me like bronzer, as I'd previously been quite apprehensive in case it didn't suit me! If you're pale but want a bit of a glow in the summer months, I'd really recommend this!

You can buy it here from Superdrug online.

Have you tried the bronzer? Let me know in the comments!

20 Significant Songs Tag

Hi guys!

I'm not sure if this is already a tag or not, but I thought I'd write about 20 songs which are significant to me in some way, either through memories or through their lyrics or something else. As I have a big passion for music, I thought it would be a fun way to include both interesting things about my life and songs that have significance. I hope you enjoy reading some of the significant songs to me!

* Girls Aloud - Can't Speak French
Can't Speak French was a song that got me through a difficult patch during 2008, I am pretty sure I played it every single day for months. It's one of my favourite Girls Aloud songs and holds such a place in my heart. It's hypnotic and a classic, despite not charting as highly as I believe it should have.

* Red Hot Chilli Peppers - By The Way
This song reminds me of summer holidays with my family, when I was younger as I vividly remember hearing it a lot in the car. Whenever it plays I do feel very nostalgic.

* Beyoncé - Freedom
This song is a hugely significant song for me. It's angry toned, vocal delivery.
The lyrics hit a chord, I feel like I can relate to it in my own way, in my own anxiety, freedom is what I crave and this song just makes me feel very empowered. Beyoncé is also one of my favourite artists and Lemonade is arguably my favourite album by her.

* Little Mix - I Won't
This song really stuck out to me whilst at the Little Mix Get Weird tour in 2016, my experience hadn't been the best due to anxiety and arguing parents behind me, as a lot of standing issues meant that people couldn't see, but this song seemed to clear my head and got me properly thinking and since became a major boost track for a low mood. My mood at the concert changed when these lyrics sat with me.

* Jess Glynne - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself
This song was prominent in a very hard time in my life, I would play this religiously to give myself a bit of a boost. I love it and feel like it's a very important track. It's still a track I play when I need a little bit of a boost.

* ATB - 9pm Till I Come
This used to play on many occasions whilst on my way back from my grandparents house in earlier years, as we used to travel back during a radio show which would play dance anthems and this is one of the ones I remember mostly. It makes me think of travelling in the car in the dark and feeling peaceful and nostalgic.

* Scooter - Posse
This is one of my favourite songs from my childhood as me and my brother listened to Scooter a lot when we were younger. Posse was always my favourite and it makes me feel very nostalgic and happy yet ready to party. I still love it today and would love to hear it on a night out. I still hope for that to happen!! I refuse to die until I've raved to this in a club.

* Michael Jackson - Thriller
Thriller has a place here because it brings back good memories as I go to Blackpool most years with family and one of my favourite illuminations is the Haunted House which plays Thriller amongst other horror related songs. We always spend time outside it.

* Five - Everybody Get Up
I put this in here because it weirdly got played at two of the events I went to at my university's SU. It therefore reminds me of them and First Year in general!

* One Direction - Best Song Ever
Best Song Ever takes me back to 2013 which was one of my favourite summers, I spent a lot of it with my best friend and we were very One Direction obsessed then and I have really good memories of that summer, we went on walks and basically chatted for hours. I miss that time in my life. Best Song Ever's music video is also iconic and still makes me smile and laugh today. Leeroy is life.

* The B52s- Love Shack
This track reminds me of Leavers Ball 2015, when me and my best friend danced to it on the dancefloor and I was feeling really good and really enjoyed myself. It brings back good memories.

* Christina Milian - When You Look At Me
This song screams nostalgia to my childhood. I must have heard it at a lot of kids' parties back in the day and I still love it to this day. Christina Milian made some fab tracks.

* Ellie Goulding - Your Song
Ellie Goulding's version of Your Song has a big significance to me because one of my best friends recorded herself singing it for me and also performed it in public too. She's still one of my best friends to this day and I would always feel very proud hearing of her singing progress and whenever she sent me videos of her singing. Caroline, shout out to you ;)

* The Saturdays - All Fired Up
Very similarly to Best Song Ever, All Fired Up reminds me of a very good summer. It also reminds me of good times within the Sats fandom and it's also still one of my favourite Saturdays tracks.

* Pharrell Williams - Fun Fun Fun
This song is so happy and cheerful, not only is it from Despicable Me series, which I like, but it also reminds me of my dad because he's a big fan of this song and some of Pharrell's tracks.

* Aaliyah - One In A Million
I chose this simply because the lyrics are so precious and it's the title track of my favourite Aaliyah album too, which makes it more significant. It's one of those songs that would be perfect for a wedding I feel.

* Dua Lipa - New Rules
This has 2 big significances to me, one being it reminds me of when I first started Second Year and me and my housemate put this on a lot, but also I have a very funny video from my 21st birthday when I snapchatted me and my friend singing along to it and the DJ noticed and called us out on it and you can hear it in the video.

* JLS - Outta This World
Outta This World is a very significant song to me as it brings back memories and the feelings of little 13 year old me (crying) at my very first concert, when JLS came out and were right in front, in the air above in the air, literally right there. It was my first ever concert experience and I was obsessed with them at that point and it was a good time in life when that album was also out. The song just reminds me of the sheer surreal feeling I had at that point. It was the first song I heard them perform live.

* A-h-a - Take on Me
I don't think of this song the same way anymore, after my little hamster Humphrey when he was little, stopped and was seemingly mesmerised at a performance of the song on the TV. He literally just sat and stared in the direction of the TV and since then I've joked on numerous occasions that it was his favourite song. Also, sadly Humphrey passed away this week, he was just under 2 and a half years old. (RIP Humph x)

* Coldplay - In My PlaceThis is another song which just makes me feel very nostalgic every time I hear it and reminds me of when I was younger.

* Jennifer Lopez - Ain't Your Mama
Another one me and my housemates have played to death in the living room TV this year, you can't go wrong with a bit of JLO. There's a certain number of songs which are always played in our uni house haha!!

There we have the songs! Did you enjoy this post? In the comments, please let me know a significant song to you!!

If I Could Only Wear 5 Lip Colours

I saw Chanelle Hayley's post 'If I Could Only Wear 5 Lip Colours' and found it to be a very interesting post, so much so I thought I'd do my own. I love experimenting with new lipsticks, whether it be liquid, lipstick, crayon or stains. I have quite a collection of different shades and types so it was quite a challenge deciding if I could literally only wear 5! But I did end up choosing 5! So let's read forward and see what I chose...

NYX Liquid Suede - Kitten Heels
I had to include a red lippy in this as it's such a classic statement and this is one of my absolute favourites. It's bright and beautiful and extremely pigmented and long lasting. A true winner.

Sleek - Shabby Chic
I'm always on about Shabby Chic, but it's such a wearable colour and works day or night. It's a gorgeous pale pink shade, which works as a pink nude. I absolutely adore it and Sleek's matte me liquid lipsticks are brilliant.

NYX Lip Lingerie - Embellishment
I've expressed my love for this liquid lipstick a few times here on the blog. It's a very distinctive shade and is set apart from the other ones I own. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and is a brown toned nude shade with a bit of a lilac look about it. I still need to collect more of these.

L'oreal Paris Infallible Lip Paint - Wuthering Purple
I had to include a purple shade as purple is my favourite colour and this particular liquid lipstick has been good to me and proved it's long lasting as well as being a gorgeous colour.

MAC - Honeylove
I was really struggling between a few for the final colour, I knew it had to be a nude shade but I couldn't quite pick one. It was probably between this and Sleek's Birthday Suit, but as I realised the rest of the ones I'd chosen were liquid lipsticks, I chose to pick MAC's Honeylove because even though it's a matte lipstick, it changes it up a bit! It's a gorgeous nude shade and so wearable.

So there we have it. My 5 shades/lipsticks I'd wear if I could only wear 5!
It was extremely tricky picking 5 as like I said, there's quite a few different liquid lipsticks that I love wearing. And thank you Chanelle for inspiring me to do this post!

Thank you for reading!

April 2018 Favourites

Welcome back to my blog, and indeed to April 2018's Favourites! My blog has definitely been a big part of this month and I've been working really hard on it and the social medias alongside it (did you know I'm on instagram @EclairsCares?). It's been a real outlet for me this month particularly. Anyway, back to the topic, here is everything I've been loving during April! I hope you enjoy!

RC Glam Amira Lashes
I think I've mentioned these in my False Eyelashes 411 post here but I purchased these eyelashes from RCGlam, they are the most gorgeous and fluffy eyelashes. At £8 they are such good quality and everytime I've worn them I've found them to look absolutely stunning. I'm so proud of Raisha for these and it's so amazing to see her do well.

Eylure Cheryl Sexy Senorita Lashes
These lashes are really light and natural, I find these to be great when I still want to boost my lashes but still allow my eyeshadow visible. I am a huge fan of them! So simple yet gorgeous.

Simple Water Boost Hydrating Gel Cream
I reviewed this during April which you can read here, but I've been really enjoying using this gel cream! It's such a lovely formula, not too thick, easy to rub in and I have genuinely noticed a difference with my skin particularly using it alongside Simple's Refreshing Facial Wash. It's so moisturising and refreshing, and as it says, works to reverse dehydration of the skin! Definitely worth a buy if you have dry/dull/dehydrated skin!

Slipper Socks
I've been meaning to mention these in a Favourites post! These slipper socks were gifted to me by one of my housemates who brought them back to me when she came back to the UK after Christmas. I love them so much, they are so comfy and so convenient to wear around the house, living in a shared house, they are great to slip on if you're going into the kitchen/living area! I know they aren't the neatest, but they've been well-loved and been in the washing machine already haha!

New Look Wide Fit Suedette Platform Heels
I wrote about my New Look shoe purchases in this blog post here and the platform heels have actually had their first outing as I went to a meal with my family. I loved wearing them and they were very comfy, I did wear them with tights, but I could walk in them and they were just amazing, I'm so glad I bought them.

The Weeknd - Call Out My Name
Lil Dicky ft Chris Brown - Freaky Friday
Una Healy - Never See Me Cry
Leah McFall ft - Home
SuRie - Storm (UK Eurovision 2018 Entry)
Junglepussy - Bling Bling
JoJo ft Wiz Khalifa - Fuck Apologies
Matt Cardle - Desire
Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

So that's it for my April 2018 Favourites!
Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Why I Love Aaliyah

Hi everyone!

As a few of you who have read my blog for a while, or know me in real life know that I'm a huge fan of the late R&B singer Aaliyah, who it was announced last year would be receiving a MAC collection dedicated to her.
To celebrate the release of the collection, they are creating a film titled A-Z of Aaliyah and encouraging fans to post photos or video that shows how Aaliyah inspired you.
I decided to dedicate a blog post to discussing Aaliyah and how she's personally inspired me and why I'm such a fan of hers.
I knew of Aaliyah throughout my childhood as I watched a lot of the music channels and had seen More Than A Woman multiple times over the years. As I got older and my love for R&B music grew, Aaliyah became one of the key artists I listened to.

Aaliyah was an artist who could do so much. She didn't just have an incredible voice, she had an amazing style, her acting career was kicking off and her dancing was slick and perfected.
She had the whole package and re-watching her music videos is always interesting because in many ways she seems so ahead of her time!

My favourite Aaliyah song is 'Try Again' and it's one that inspires me so much. The message of the song can be taken on board for any situation. It's also such a jam and the video is gorgeous too, it's definitely my fave Aaliyah track!

In terms of some of the ballads she released, Journey To The Past and One In A Million are some of my favourites. Her voice in Journey To The Past is absolutely stunning!

I loved Aaliyah's style, as it evolved from being quite tomboyish and very typically 90s to being effortlessly stunning and sophisticated.
Some of her video makeup looks are extremely classic and I can only wish that we got the chance to see her style evolve even more.

Her style wasn't the only thing which evolved as she continued to go from strength to strength, the growth from 'Age Ain't Nothing But A Number' to 'Aaliyah' is so pleasing, I love both sides of her, from the early street side to the classy yet effortlessly stunning adult she grew into.

One In A Million is actually my favourite album of hers, I enjoy pretty much every track so much and it's the middle of the growth, Timbaland and Missy had taken her under their wing and the production between the three of them was golden.

Another reason she's inspired me is that she allowed herself to develop, she wasn't afraid to experiment with her passions, try new things. I also love her style, some of the outfits she wore were so classy.

I'm so excited for the Aaliyah for MAC collection and am planning to buy at least one of the items from the collection, I just think it's going to be so effortlessly gorgeous. I also signed the petition and have been hoping for it to actually happen ever since!!
Thank you so much for reading this post! If you were an Aaliyah fan or are now, what's your favourite song of hers?

RIP Aaliyah❤ (1979 - 2001)

Love & hugs,

Would You Rather Beauty Edition

Hi everyone!
So I realised I'd not done a tag post in a while so I thought I'd search around and find one I've never done before and Would You Rather (Beauty Edition) is just that!

1) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eye liners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
This is a hard question as I love my palettes very much, but I think I love my lipsticks a lot more so probably going to have to say I'd rather lose my palettes and eyeshadows.
2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I mean technically I'd hope my chopped off hair would grow back but I think if I never cut my hair again I'd genuinely get sick of it particularly in summer because it's really hot!
3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I suit neither but probably coral because it's more discrete.
4.) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I mean logically I'd spent it half and half, but if I had to choose one it would probably end up being clothes.
5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Wow what a thought! Neither are hygienic but I figure, eyeliner as lipstick is probably most plausible?
6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
I've never actually shopped at a Sephora so going to have to say MAC!
7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
That would be a very hard thing to do but I'd say maybe eyeshadow as sometimes you can't always notice my eyeshadow if I'm wearing lashes so at least I could change up the lip colour it would look a little different!
8.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I wear both but possibly dark nails as some of them end up being dark reds, purples, greys.
9.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
If I'm going to be smart about it, I fall out of love with lip products quicker than I do eye products, so my favourite lip product would probably be different in a few months anyway, and lip products are easier to find dupes for!
10.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Probably never use lipgloss because I barely use it anymore anyway so it wouldn't be much difference.
11.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Ooh well I'd not like having no eyebrows but using a sharpie? Not sure how that would work haha!
12.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Probably without nail polish, because I don't always paint my nails anyway.

So there we have it!

Thank you for reading! Feel free to do this tag if you fancy it!

Love & hugs,
Claire xxx

Sleek Cream Contour Kit (Light) Review

Sleek's Cream Contour kit was a product I'd been considering for a while as I'd previously been using powder contour but wanted to try a cream formula and see if that made any difference, as I do have dry skin, I felt that the cream would maybe sit better on my skin than powder did. Here's a little review of how I found the kit!

(Ignore the mirror reflection of the table, I had to get this photo on Christmas before I actually used it!)

This cream contour kit in the lighter shade, includes 6 different tones including 2 highlighters, which I don't reach for as much as the contour shades, but it's handy to have some alongside! There's a light, medium and dark option for buying the product, which is definitely handy as you can buy whichever matches your skin tone the most.

I loved how easy this cream formula is to blend! The variety of shades also made it easier to build up the contour instead of just going straight in with one. I find myself beginning with the first on the bottom row and depending how I'm feeling, I'll gradually build up the coverage and blend it out with a buffing powder brush.

It's not too dark and fake looking in my opinion, it's easy to get a very balanced, nice shading to your face without looking like it's gone wrong. I think that cream contours look a lot better when they are completed than powder contours do, which is what my old one used to be. They are so smooth which make them super easy to work with and I love it for that!

It's a very affordable price (£10.99) for the quality you get and as someone who loves Sleek's products, I'm glad it didn't disappoint me! The packaging is very professional looking and it even has a mirror inside which is an extreme bonus! Even though I don't use the highlight shades as much, I think it's nice all the same to have them included! It may be a little pricier than some of the other highstreet/drugstore contour kits but it's definitely worth it if you're a big makeup lover or if you are a big fan of having a very contoured and structured face. It's definitely made me prefer cream contour products and Sleek once again haven't disappointed me!

Have you tried a cream contour kit, or specifically Sleek's? Let me know in the comments!

Love & hugs,

Simple Water Boost Hydrating Gel Cream Review

Hey everyone!

Today's post is a review for one of the new products from Simple's Water Boost range, which aims to take care of dehydrated skin and help reverse the five stages of dehydration.
I was drawn to this range after reading about it in Superdrug's Dare magazine March/April issue, as recently I've definitely noticed my skin being a little dry, dull and generally dehydrated! I had been looking into investing in something to sort it out or at least improve it a little so Simple's range came at a great time!

I'm a big lover of Simple's products as I've tried many out before and been impressed and their makeup wipes are a holy grail of mine. I don't tend to try too many skincare brands, I have very sensitive skin and it can easily be affected by a change of product, but Simple generally tend to impress and of all the brands out there, have no harsh chemicals.

So I decided I had to try and give my skin a bit of a water boost by trying out one of the Water Boost range products!

I picked out the Hydrating Gel Cream but was torn between the Hydrating Gel Booster too. The gel cream can be applied after cleansing your face and that's how I used it.

You simply apply a small amount and rub into your face, upon application I felt it to be very refreshing and quenching. It's a creamy consistency, as expected, but not thick, it's very lightweight which I think is great as it makes it easier to apply to your skin and allow it to soak in. One of the main things I actually love about this cream is it's not greasy or sticky at all and it so pleasant to use. Sometimes keeping moisturised and hydrated means having sticky creams or moisturisers on you but this isn't like that at all.

It's very gentle on the skin which is expected with Simple and it's also non-perfumed. I have actually noticed my skin being less dry and more quenched since using the gel cream, especially alongside my Simple Facial Gel Wash which I'm back to using after returning back to uni house. I'm really impressed with the cream and it has made me wonder what the other products in the range would do alongside this.

I had no bad reaction to it and it kept my skin more refreshed and quenched, it's a product I'm sure I'll definitely repurchase once I'm finished with as I have really liked it so far!

Have you tried any of the Simple Water Boost range yet? What did you think of it?

Current LBD Picks

An LBD (little black dress) is a classic staple in any gal's wardrobe, they look effortless and perfect for an easy glam look. Black goes with everything and with so many different styles out there, there's so much out there to choose from and therefore a style to suit everyone. In this post I thought I'd go through and choose 10 LBD's that I recommend and personally like. I tried to choose a variety of styles and places. Enjoy!
I love the frill on this, it sets it apart from other standard black bodycon dresses, I also admire the fact it is cold shoulder. At £25 it's one of the pricier dresses in this list but it's not too bad.

Lace Sleeve Wrap Black Dress - £5 - Everything5Pounds.Com

I chose this dress because it looks a lot more pricey than just £5 and I think it looks very sophisticated and stunning. I love the lace sleeves.

Bryanna Cut out Neck Bodycon Dress - £15 - Boohoo

I love the detail at the top of this, it's very sexy and I feel like it gives it a bit more of an edge.
Boohoo sells a lot of gorgeous dresses and this is no different!

Karina Bandage Zip Through Midi Bodycon Dress - £20 - Boohoo

Even though this is a fairly simple dress, I like the zip through detail on it and think it's one of those simple but effortless dresses that's easy to wear and good to throw on if you don't know what to go for.

Black Extreme Thigh Split Panelled Plunge Bodycon Dress - £20 - Pretty Little Thing

Even though this probably isn't a dress I personally could get away with, I love the design of this dress and just think it's stunning.

Black Binding Detail Cross Neck Bodycon Dress - £12 - Pretty Little Thing

The cross detailing on this one is one what makes me love it a lot! Definitely one I'd like to have in my wardrobe!

Black Sequin Bandeau Bodycon Dress - £12 - Missguided

I simply had to include one with sequins, although I'm not a bandeau dress wearer, I think this would be gorgeous for a special occasion. We all need a bit of sequins sometimes!

Black Glitter Mesh T Shirt Dress - £10 - River Island

I love how this takes a simple t shirt dress and jazzes it up a bit by having the mesh overlay. I love how it's sparkly too.
Black Asymmetric Ruffle Hem Mini Dress - £19.99 - New Look

As well as being simplistic, I love how chic the ruffle bottom of the dress is! It gives a lovely touch to it and naturally makes for a perfect 'swish' boomerang!!

Scuba Crepe Diphem Bardot Skater Dress - £15.99 - Select Fashion

Bardot styles are everywhere at the moment, but the back part of the dress being slightly longer looks so gorgeous on this dress and with it being only £15.99 it looks like it should be so much more expensive! Very pretty!

And there we have it! Hope you enjoyed this post and do let me know which one you like the most and if you'd buy any of these yourself and which was your favourite!

Why It's Important To Be Supportive

Hi everyone!

I'm sure you've all noticed by now I've done quite a few posts specifically on mental health and aspects of it. Support is such an important part of life and that's what I wanted to address further today.

This post also relates to the feelings of jealousy we have from time to time.
I think we are all guilty of comparing our life to someone else's and then feeling jealous of someone else's opportunity or success, or just comparing ourselves to other people and making ourselves sad over it. I know I've done it before.

We all get jealous and envious of people sometimes, it's a natural human emotion and it's completely okay to feel that way, you just have to channel it and use it to motivate you and to be a supportive person.
But the most important thing is not to let it turn you into a negative person.
By not being supportive or being openly petty or jealous, it's doing nothing but adding negativity to the situation. It doesn't even have to be about jealousy though, by showing your support to someone it really shows that you're actually caring towards them and not just the kind of friend who hovers in the background and doesn't cheer for you when things are going well.

As the saying goes 'Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours shine any brighter'.
Degrading someone else's successes or triumphs doesn't change anything about yours.

I felt so much better in myself when I started trying to be more supportive to my friends' opportunities. They're your friends after all, they're going to want to talk about it (to a reasonable level) and because you're close and important to them, it would be you. Sometimes we all need a bit of moral support with whatever life is throwing at us or whatever opportunities are present.

I used to struggle to be a supportive friend, because I'd be feeling bad that it wasn't happening to me and yes I still do feel jealousy at times and wish I'd be able to have their opportunities, but I channel it now and it's made me a better person because I'm cheering for them, I'm supporting them, having their back and helping them. My mental health was probably a big factor for that but as I've mentioned, I began to realise that there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be supportive to someone who's had success, even if you haven't had that same success. I told myself this and realised that it's an important part of being a supportive friend.

So yes, I do tend to spread support whenever I can for example if someone's posted a photo on Instagram where they look lovely, I'll comment and tell them. You never know what one act of kindness can do to someone, a compliment can go far.

Basically, you're not going to get far and progress in life if you're stuck tearing everyone else down or being limitedly supportive. Being the good person who spreads support can only do good, you never know you may make someone's day with a comment of support.

Life can be very brutal sometimes and it's easy to forget that there's people who care sometimes, so don't be afraid to spread the love!

New Look Shoe Haul

So I'm notoriously a pain to buy shoes for, I'm the pickiest person when it comes to comfort because I hate that I sometimes get foot cramp, and also happen to have 'wide feet' which results in a lot of standard shoes being too narrow for me. Truthfully, I find it so hard to find shoes that are comfy enough for me and that I like the style of too.
So I was extremely surprised the other day to purchase not one pair but TWO pairs of shoes from New Look, during their 25% off sale. New Look is definitely one of my favourite high street shops but I've never purchased any of their shoes before. Here's a look at what I bought:

Wide Fit Black Suedette Platform Heels - £25.99
These were actually shoes I'd found on the New Look website and really liked the look of. I've been looking for a pair of dressier black heels for a while now.
I got them in a size 4 as the size 5 was a big fit and they don't do half sizes.
They are mostly comfy, obviously heeled shoes aren't always the comfiest but I simply couldn't leave them behind so I bought them. As someone who can't walk in heels, I manage to in these and they're so gorgeous too.

Wide Fit Black Suedette Low Block Heeled Sandals - £16.99
These were purchased alongside the other heels, they were a very spontaneous buy. It was actually my mum that brought me these over to try on, as I'd been trying pretty much the entire shop on, it was a chance that they actually were so comfortable! The front part of the shoe is literally so comfy and cushioned. I hope that I'll be able to wear them in summer and maybe nights out too. I got these in a size 4 too as they seemed to fit okay, I do find it strange that I have trainers that are size 5 and a half and these are a 4 but I guess different places do different sizes?

So there we have it. I've actually never bought shoes from New Look before but I'm very happy with both pairs especially as they were unexpected buys! I'm not sure how long the 25% off offer lasts, but I'd take advantage if I were you!

Product Empties #1

I realised I'd actually never done a Product Empties blog post in my 4 years of running this blog.
I think the reason for that is I'm so bad at finishing products up, if I enjoy something I really don't like using it all up, I'll often use it till it gets almost empty... just because I have enjoyed it so much.

Today I thought I'd sit down and discuss some of my recent products which I've used up and mention whether I've enjoyed them and whether I'll repurchase.

I love reading Product Empties posts because you're going to get a mixture of products which the blogger/vlogger has loved and some they have disliked!
You also get to find out if the products are reliable as they've used them up, either because they're so good or because you're trying to use up to get rid of!

Beyoncé Heat Perfume (not pictured as I've actually left it at my uni house!)
This is a perfume I've had for a few years now and actually not sure how I've made it last so long as it's actually probably one of my favourite scents. I think the reason would be because I liked it so much I decided to save it for special occasions. I would definitely repurchase it again and in fact already have a bottle ready to open!

Impulse Into Glamour Spray This is probably one of my go-to scents, it's so fresh and easy to wear, I spray it most days, it's light and easy to take out with me. I don't use many aerosol sprays as I used to, but Into Glamour is a firm favourite which gets repurchased countless amounts of times so I will definitely be buying again!!

Nivea Soft Creme Shower Crème
This was a mini and perfect size for travelling with, which is what I mainly used it for, the perfect travel shower mini. It's extremely moisturising and smells lovely! I probably won't be buying again immediately but I'd love to try it again in the future sometime.

Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Pomegranate Conditioner
I have multiple bottles of this, from one in my uni house to 2 bottles back home and I finished one of the bottles at home recently. Although this didn't do amazing work for the ends of my hair (unless my hair is just too damaged and easily breakable) but I love, love, love, the smell of this conditioner and it does make my hair feel so smooth. I will more than likely buy it again but I might experiment with a new conditioner and see if any other help my hair more.

JLS Kiss Perfume
Who remembers when JLS released two perfumes? Well I was/am still a big fan of JLS and realised that this perfume has run out, I think I have another one somewhere but I believe it's discontinued now. It's one of the fruitiest scents I've owned but not quite my favourite scent. I wore this loads when I was about 15/16!

Zoella Creamy Madly Dreamy Body Lotion
I absolutely loved this body lotion and the classic, soft and comforting scent of Zoella's first set of products. It smells so dreamy and so soft, I have another which I bought a while ago as a backup!

Hope you enjoyed my first ever Product Empties!

If you don't already, please give my blog Instagram @eclairscares a follow!
Thank you so much for reading!

March 2018 Favourites

Here is my Favourites Post for March, which is admittedly a little shorter than usual! There's not a lot of makeup/beauty favourites this month as since late February/majority of March, I fell ill and it lasted for multiple weeks and therefore barely wore any makeup or had any plans to also where makeup for. To make up for it I'll discuss some of my Favourites in more detail.

Zoella Blissful Mistful Rollerball
It might be because it's quite a fresh spring scent, but I've been enjoying Zoella's classic scent again. Blissful Mistful is such a light floral/feminine scent and as the actual spray I have was back home, I had the Rollerball edition of the spray at my uni house so I've been using it and enjoying it. They are so handy to pack for on the go.

Janelle Monae - Faster
Janelle Monae - Dance Apocalyptic
Boogie Pimps - Somebody To Love
Louisa ft 2 Chainz - Yes
Pussycat Dolls ft Missy Elliott - Whatcha Think About That
The Script - Rain
Joey Negro - Make A Move On Me

Pretty Little Liars
Right, I know I'm super late to the bandwagon here, but me and my housemates finished Jane The Virgin last month so during March we decided to watch Pretty Little Liars, a series I've heard raved about lots and never actually watched myself. I can thoroughly see the hype and I'm really enjoying it.

Not Going Out
Not Going Out is a sitcom starring Lee Mack, who I find has absolutely brilliant comic timing! I've not watched all of the series', but I've watched quite a few years of the recent series and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lee Mack is great with one-liners but I don't think this show is for everyone, but it's definitely something I look forward to whenever it returns to the screens!

Jacqueline's World
Jacqueline was in EastEnders as Lauren Branning from 2010 - 2018 and since departing she has set up a YouTube channel and began releasing vlogs. I find it extremely interesting as I've loved Jacqueline as an actress for quite a few years now, Lauren was one of my favourite characters and her bond with daughter Ella, is so adorable to watch.

I feel as though I mention Neesey quite a little bit on this blog but she's one of my favourite youtubers. She has a fun and sassy personality, I adore her style and her aesthetic and basically, she's just amazing yes? I've been binge watching a lot of her old videos recently and enjoying them.

Vivian Zhu aka xxnaivivxx
Vivian is a YouTuber I used to watch back in 2010/2011 who actually quit YouTube a couple of years ago. However. she's made a return to YouTube and is back to do more videos and I'm intrigued to see what she brings.

I apologise for this Favourites post being a little smaller than my usual Favourites posts, hopefully I'll get to enjoy more products next month!!

Let's Talk About: Blogging Pressures

I was reading Are You Feeling Pressured By Your Blog? written by Dorkface recently and I realised that I could relate to it in a number of ways and realised that it would be quite an interesting blog post, and another edition to the 'Let's Talk About' series.

As someone who's been blogging for a few years now, there is a lot I've learnt surrounding writing posts, running a blog and as this title mentions 'blogging pressures'. Blogging isn't easy and it takes time for development.

Blogging fascinated me because I'm not quite comfortable enough to go on camera and chat about things but I loved the way you can discuss and express your thoughts on your own little space on the Internet. It was always a place where I can chat about anything on my mind, maybe give comfort with my mental health posts or just generally belong somewhere.
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to take my blog proper seriously and stick to my schedule, which was originally Sundays but then I branched out and tried Thursdays and Sundays, but not a specific time of day. Admittedly, my views went up but looking back some of my content wasn't always as good as it could have been.
But through the years I've struggled to keep up with continuously blogging, particularly when I started uni and through times when I just lost my mojo a bit. I've never been someone to rank in loads of views on my blog, but there was a time when I'd be getting regular views and my untimely breaks have dented that so deeply that I am disappointed in myself for letting it slip.

Also, I find a lot of pressure surrounding promoting your blog too. My EclairsCares Instagram feed is very random and my photos aren't perfect and I don't have a massive DSLR camera and all the kit to do absolutely amazing photos. I try my best and I know that lovely feeds are so appealing to the eye, but mine just isn't like that and it's something I both take pride in and feel slightly embarrassed over. But the embarrassment comes from the pressure, especially from a beauty/lifestyle blogger perspective of having that kind of feed. You shouldn't feel bad about your feed though if you like the photos and if it's representative of you.

Another thing I feel is a big pressure especially among the beauty/lifestyle community is discussing expensive and high end makeup. I don't know if I'm alone on this one or if there's more of you who feel this way, but I feel there's a big amount of pressure to discuss higher end products in posts. I'm certainly not someone who has the bank balance to be able to splurge and buy endless bits and bobs from the more expensive brands, however much I'd love to, but sometimes I feel there is a pressure to do so. Obviously this doesn't apply to everybody but it sometimes seems as though you're not successful if you only discuss highstreet/drugstore products, which is definitely not true!

What's more, I had a blogging module last semester at uni and as I'd been blogging for just under 4 years when receiving it, I felt like it was a module that I could comfortably sink my teeth into. When it came to my result, I was really disappointed as I'd gotten my lowest grade ever at uni and what upsets me the most is that it was doing the thing I love doing, that I've been doing previously for 4 years. I was balancing two blogs at one time during that stage but I was just so gutted that I'd let that happen and just made me feel like absolute crap and full of doubt really. I felt like I'd been disheartened a bit, as if blogging had been taken away from me. Blogging has been a huge therapeutic help to me over the years and it almost felt as though all of that had been taken away from me upon receiving my mark. It sounds dramatic but it made me question whether I could ever consider blogging as a career or not, whether writing this blog was just a waste, because I'd remember how I'd let it all slip and it all just kind of hit me at once.

Through blogging, you can put your personality and your themes across however you want and I just wish there was less pressures surrounding the blogging world. There are so many different types of bloggers from all around the world, writing about different subjects and presenting themselves to the world in different ways and it should be celebrated.

To conclude, there are definitely many ways in which I've felt blogging pressures, and many different times too. Have you guys felt blogging pressures? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

False Eyelashes 411

Hi everyone!

This post is on the topic of false eyelashes! It's only in the last couple of years I've properly gotten into false lashes after steering clear of them for fear of them either just looking like I'd applied them in the dark or that they would be too heavy. I wanted to do a specific post about them because I've never really discussed lashes here on my blog as when I first started it I barely wore eyelashes but they've since become some of my favourite things to use with my makeup!

Lashes in General
For me I've technically only tried a handful of specific brands of false eyelashes, Tanya Burr and Eylure.
Unfortunately, Tanya Burr doesn't do eyelashes anymore which is quite disappointing as I honestly found hers amazing and so easy to work with! I also found the glue so much better too.
Now I stick to Eylure eyelashes and I'm a big fan. They're extremely light and there are so many different varieties and effects to try out. Mostly I try and buy mine from shops such as Bodycare or Savers here in the UK, as they sell them much cheaper, but Eylure lashes are generally found in a lot of places from supermarkets to Superdrug and Boots. The good thing about Eylure is that they have a big variety of different lash styles so you are guaranteed to find a style/pair that suits you and they are so light that you can't even feel them on, which I feel like is hugely important because nothing worse than feeling like your lashes are weighing your eyes down!!

I would say I've seen some YouTube videos on application of false eyelashes, but mostly I guess I'd say I'm self-taught as I didn't really follow their instructions or advice. A lot of people say using tweezers helps but for me personally, I don't use tweezers as I think I'd find them too fiddly.

I've been told that I'm good at applying false eyelashes but I wouldn't always agree! I think I'm very much a trial and error kind of person when it comes to eyelashes as I don't always get them on first go and even once I'm actually wearing them, they aren't always perfect.

A few tips I'd definitely suggest would be to try and stay as close to the lash line as possible when applying, have patience as you more than likely won't get it on right first time especially in the first few times you apply them.
Also using mascara to blend your real lashes among the fake can really help.
When I first started applying lashes, I wasn't all that great but it definitely takes practice to get used to wearing them, but now it's almost weird going on a night out without lashes.

Some of my current favourite lashes would be

Eylure X Cheryl Lashes in 'Belle of The Ball' (these work a treat for a night out, they look so stunning on and look extremely feminine and stunning)
RCGlam Lashes in 'Amira' (The newest lashes in my collection, they are absolutely beautiful and the fluffiest pair of lashes I own! They seriously enhance your eyes!)
Eylure Enchanted Lashes in 'Rose' (although sadly I don't actually own these lashes anymore as unfortunately, the lashes fell out of their case when I was taking them back to uni after the Christmas break so I lost one of them and the other got dusty, however I wore them for my 21st birthday and they were gorgeous!)

I'm intending on trying some of Primark's lashes as I've heard amazing things about them and especially for the prices they are sold at!
I'm also tempted to try either Ardell Wispies or Dodo lashes in the near future too as they look so stunning.

I hope this has helped some of you who maybe want to know more about lashes or the ones that I like and more!

Love & hugs,

Claire xxx
